You my best friend...Daddy

On our way to Monster Jam over the weekend Harrison told everyone who his best friend was. This was the scene in the car, everyone is quiet and out of the blue Harrison says,"Daddy you are my best friend!"
Doug replies, You're my best friend too."
So I pipe in and say,"What about momma? Am I your best friend too?"
To which Harrison replies,"NO, Blase can be yous(use)daddy is mine."
Now everyday before Doug leaves for work, He asks Harrison for a squeeze hug and when he is hugging him he says,"Bye best friend"
So sweet! Everything to Doug now is about being best friends...Night best friend, I love you best friend, it melts my heart.

My new bathroom

After 9 years, we decided we were going to change the paint in some of the rooms of our house. We wanted to brighten things up a bit. The whole point of this entry is to honor Doug. Changing paint usually just involves well changing paint, but not to Doug. He went to Menards to get some supplies and they were having a bathroom sale and he came home with all new things for our bathroom, so that everything matched. He got me a round shower curtain rod, hand towel holders, faucet, heater vent and toilet paper holder all in brushed nickel. Who by choice replaces a faucet??? Doug does! He wanted to be glorious for me and it is! He would rather have teeth pulled than paint and he did all of this without one grumble or complaint. I love you Doug and am more in love with you everyday...you are Amazing! Thank you for doing this for me.

Summer fun in the winter

The weather here for the last 5 days has been summy and in the 30's, which made us so happy! Yesterday it got to about 45 dergrees, and it felt like spring is here. What did this mean for my boys? Pretend the gigantic puddle in the driveway is a lake that we sled into. Get your scooters and bikes out, play soccer...you get the idea. Well, needless to say they had a blast and got drenched. Seeing the sun here during the winter is amazing, but 5 days in a row is HEAVEN on earth! Today is supposed to be 50 and the sun is already shining! So thankful for this beautiful weather.

Old as dirt

35 OMG! I am so old! Plus does anyone even look at this blog anymore? Oh wait I know you do, I see it on my sitemeter, and for still looking I thank you. Anyway, who cares about birthdays? Well I do, and i'm not ashamed to say it. I love the celebrations and a day that is all about me...my day. Alicia decorated with a polka dot theme (my mom always made us birthday signs and we still carry on the tradition)and made signs all over the house! I loved it. Gifts, cards, CAKE, thank you darling Doug for making my cake so pretty and getting me my favorite buttercream frosting, but the phone calls made my day! I am grateful and thank you all for thinking of me. Here's my problem...I am the worst at remembering birthdays, cards and all that stuff, but I am Still looking in my mailbox for a long lost card! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I have to remind myself, Jessica your day is over get on with your life, it's almost March first. Anyway I am just rambling, but I am thankful to God for this blessed 35 yrs and pray that no matter what is in store for me, the next 35 would glorify him. Love you all.

Our Cruise

We went on a 7 day POLKA Cruise with Doug's dad, Chris, Sandy, Aunt Helen and Uncle Rich. We had such a wondrful time. We went to Cozumel, Belize Honduras, and Grand Cayman. Doug and I went snorkling at the Grand Cayman. This first picture shows the water trampoline we snorkled to and saw a 4ft Baracuda! It was amazing. I did try to learn to polka, but still need some practice. More pictures to follow!
